SHOP VALVE TECHNICIAN
Summary: The Shop Valve Technician performs maintenance, assessment, repair, and testing on various types of oilfield valves. They must have the ability to rig/up down various types of related equipment. They do routine field maintenance of valves in the field as well as at the shop. Basic computer knowledge is necessary in order to perform data entry and to generate field reports. Workload consists of shop and hotshots to location if needed. They must have a valid driver's license and clean driving record. A CDL license is preferred.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Responsible for repair and testing of various types of valves
- Perform disassemble, cleaning, inspection, measuring, reassembly and testing of valves at FESCO facilities and client locations
- Follow all schematics and documented procedures in accordance with all Quality Control and ASME National Board standards that apply to the job
- Thoroughly complete all calibration and documentation associated with testing and repairs
- Travel to job sites if needed and adhere to all site safety performance requirements
- Communicate timely updates to management, co-workers, and customers to ensure timely and successful completion of job responsibilities
- Works closely with co-workers, management and safety coordinator to ensure compliance with OSHA and other safety regulations
- Overnight stay may be required
- Other duties as assigned

Physical demand and work environment:
- Frequent exposure to fumes or airborne particles
- Frequent exposure to loud noises
- Continually required to stand, walk, bend, crouch and climb
- Continually required to use hands and fingers and to reach with arms
- Physically load and unload fieldwork equipment weighting +/- 70 lbs.. to/from height of 36" to 60"
- Lift items and fittings weighing +/- 30 lbs. placing them on shelves head high
- Exposed to outdoor weather conditions ( heat, cold, rain)
- Work in toxic environments (Hydrogen Sulfide Gas) while wearing a self-contained breathing apparatus with full face sealed respiratory equipment weighing +/- 30 lbs.
- Work comfortably up to 15' above the ground wearing the appropriate fall protection equipment designated for the job
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED
- 2 years of industrial valve repair experience
